The questions we get asked most often about roof cleaning, moss removal and soft washing across Hampshire.
No. Soft washing operates at very low pressure (typically under 100 psi — the same as a garden hose). It cleans by killing algae and moss with biocide, not by force. This is unlike high-pressure jet washing, which can strip the protective glaze off concrete tiles and crack ridge mortar.
With our 5-year biocide treatment, most Hampshire roofs stay visibly clean for 5–7 years. Roofs heavily shaded by trees or facing north tend to be on the shorter end; south-facing roofs on the longer end.
Almost never. Our soft wash system uses extended carbon-fibre poles that reach most roofs from ground level. We only suggest scaffolding for chimney repairs or unusually high properties (4 storeys+).
Most domestic roof cleans are completed in 4–8 hours. Larger detached properties or roofs with heavy moss may take a second day.
Yes. We guarantee the biocide treatment for 5 years — if the roof shows visible regrowth in that period, we re-treat free of charge. Payment is only taken after you’re happy with the result.
Most domestic roof cleans land between £400 and £950. Pricing depends on roof size, tile type, moss density and access. We send a fixed-price quote in writing within 24 hours of receiving photos.
Yes — gutter clearance is included free with every roof clean. The debris that washes off the roof goes straight into our vacuum system.
Yes. We carry £5 million public liability insurance and our operatives are working-at-heights certified. We’ll happily send proof of cover before any job.
No, but it helps for the initial walk-around. After that, you can leave us to it. We send before-and-after photos plus the treatment certificate by email.
